A guard-gated golf community with a Windermere address. About 1,055 detached homes sit on 11 recorded plat units around the Golden Bear Club, a private Jack Nicklaus course opened in 1999. It lies between Lake Tibet-Butler, part of the Butler Chain of Lakes, and Lake Burden, in unincorporated Orange County.
Keene's Pointe in short

R.D. Keene Park
10900 Chase Road. A 52-acre park with a ramp to the chain: $5 a day with a trailer and motorboat, or a $150 annual pass.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office and FWC. Keene's Pointe is outside the Town, so Town ramp passes don't apply.

01Is Keene's Pointe in the Town of Windermere?
No. Keene's Pointe has a Windermere 34786 mailing address but is in unincorporated Orange County, and the Town lists it among communities that aren't part of Windermere. Owners pay county fire and sheriff millage instead of Town millage, and Town boat-ramp passes don't apply.
02Is Keene's Pointe a gated community?
Yes. It has two guard-staffed entrances, open 24 hours: the main gate on Chase Road and a second gate on State Road 535 (Winter Garden-Vineland Road). The roads inside are private, and visitors and showings are booked through the gate.
03How many homes are in Keene's Pointe?
About 1,055, according to Orange County parcel data from October 2026, on 11 recorded plat units. Unit 1 is the largest, with 358 homes. Other sites quote anywhere from 395 to about 1,180 because they count only some plats or draw the boundary differently.
04What does the Keene's Pointe HOA cover?
The 24-hour gate staff, the common areas and their taxes, and the community's recreation areas, which listings describe as a basketball court, park and playground. Dues on 2026 listings are $3,578 a year, and there's no capital contribution at resale. Golf, tennis, pool and fitness belong to the private Golden Bear Club, which is separate.

Two. Lake Tibet-Butler, 1,200 acres, is part of the Butler Chain of Lakes and a state Outstanding Florida Water. Lake Burden, 129 acres, is a separate lake that isn't one of the chain's 13 lakes. Unit 3 also touches Lake Isleworth, a chain lake.
08Can you get a boat onto the Butler Chain from Keene's Pointe?
From a Lake Tibet-Butler home with a permitted dock, yes. Otherwise, the nearest public ramp is Orange County's R.D. Keene Park on Chase Road: $5 a day with a trailer and motorboat, or a $150 annual pass, with 49 trailer spaces. Ask the association about its own launch points.
09Does Keene's Pointe have a CDD?
No. Orange County parcel data from October 2026 shows no community development district on any Keene's Pointe parcel, so there's no CDD assessment on the tax bill. Owners pay the master association's dues instead.
10How far is Keene's Pointe from Disney World and the airport?
In a straight line, Keene's Pointe Drive is about 3.6 miles from Magic Kingdom, 4.7 miles from Universal Studios Florida, 2.7 miles from Windermere Town Hall and 14.3 miles from Orlando International Airport. Main routes are Chase Road, SR 535, SR 429 and I-4.
